Today I was asked if I was more a developer or a designer. Now I’m having the hardest time answering this question because I’m both… something new. I like to create and then build that which I created. Maybe I’m a createveloper :-)

A designer creates for purpose defined by a brand in there for a business object. A developer crates for purpose that is shaped by the business object; however, both result in logic. Design visual logic and code written logic. Design is not as black-and-white as code rather it’s much more experimental and given colorful freedom. As a hybrid, one should always plan their code when designing as this will make design elements more efficient in markup. Secondly, always carry a notebook & pen. Ideas come at the most random times and when you can’t remember that brilliant creation… that really does suck! With design, big problems can be discovered by going deeper into the issue and then understanding it at a greater level. With code, big problems can be solved by breaking them down into smaller pieces. Finally, when one becomes a designlomenter aka “hybrid” of a developer / designer. The mental overlap process is a constant! So stop wasting time with that pixel perfect designer concept and allow that developer some experimental color.
